Joyce graduated from Georgetown College in Kentucky with a degree in Music Education. She sang solos, starred in musicals then taught elementary music in public schools. She married her musical college sweetheart, Jim.

Together, they had a daughter and a son making their “J-family” flock—Jim, Joyce, Julie, and Jason.

As a young person, Joyce would have countless ideas pop in her head and couldn’t rest until she wrote them on paper. Later, these ideas produced Bible studies, devotions, skits, and published short stories. She felt called to plunge deeper into the world of writing.

At times, it seemed an impossible task, but she remained inspired by this thought— “The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us.” And, as Luke 12:48 teaches, “To whom much is given, much is required.”

And now, with three biblical historic novels and a weekly blog (for the past seven years,) Joyce speaks in various group settings and teaches a Bible study class. She enjoys water aerobics, reading at the beach, and drinking her morning flavored teas. She delights in afternoon walks with her husband and keeping up with her seven teen-age grand kids. She believes one corner of heaven will be made of chocolate!
