A word from Joyce

Thank you to many who gave me feedback on the story of Zebina and Mary. I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Most of you are okay with the every-other week blogs, a few like every week. I don’t promise to write every in-between week, but I will sometimes write a short thought on some of those “in-betweens.”

Have you moved several times in your life? Some of you have likely been in one house several years at a time. Maybe a move when you got married. Maybe a move to a larger house later, but perhaps you stayed in the same town, same church, same friends.

You may have moved to a couple different cities. Or if you’re like me, I lived in seven different cities in six different states, often two different houses per city—all this by the time I graduated from high school! It never really got easier, I just had to adapt and learn to quickly make new friends.

Regardless of our moving status, it’s hard to leave your friends and just pick up and move to the unfamiliar.

In Zebina’s day, where moving was not the norm, you can imagine her fears. Sometimes new things are exciting, but often fear of the unkown is the worst kind of fear.

Isn’t it wonderful though, that if we seek the Lord for our fears, like Zebina did, He brings calm to our souls.

We’ll find out next week what the future holds for her and her family.

See you then!
