Hi blog friends,

This is our first off-week on the new schedule of blogs every other week, but I wanted to give you a heads-up on an idea that’s been stirring in my head for some time.

We know much about Mary, the mother of Jesus. Matthew and Luke tell us about the angel’s announcement, her visit to Elizabeth, Joseph’s dream instructions, the birth, angels, Bethlehem, etc, The thought occured to me that very likely, before all this, Mary would have a friend, someone she might share with like any other girl.

Later, we will see that this possible friend is actually an unamed woman in Scripture, one we seldom talk about. I will call her “Zebina.” Perhaps some where along the way you will begin to guess who she is.

So, stay tuned for next week when we will begin to follow the story of Mary and her friend, Zebina.
