Gifts

Welcome to my updated website! To get the full effect, I hope you will view the pages on your PC or laptop computer. Included is this free gift of the blog each week on Thursdays, right to your email. If you are not a subscriber, I hope you will take a moment to hit the subscribe button.

Speaking of gifts, our subject for the next few blogs is “Gifts of the Spirit.” How wonderfully God blesses you with at least one spiritual gift.

Let me share my spiritual gift and the path God used to lead me to write this blog.

Years ago, after attending several writers’ conferences, the leaders emphasized three things for establishing a platform—get on Facebook, have a website, and write a blog. This challenged my technical skills to the N-th degree. I faced this challenge kicking and screaming.

After finding my way to Facebook, I discovered friends I hadn’t seen in years! I enjoyed keeping up with current friends and special happenings in their lives. Oh yes, and here was a place to share my life as well, not to mention my writings.

But, could I set up a website? No way! Thankfully, the Lord provided a helper to proclaim my first two books and provide a page for me to write a blog. I finally got the knack of it and came up with ideas every week—now for seven years.

In the process, I realized what a great exercise it was, helping me fine tune my writing skills. Then, as comments came in, I realized it wasn’t just a practice or a marketing tool, it was a MINISTRY. This writing thing had become a spiritual gift the Lord gave me to give others.

How fitting then, on this occasion, to celebrate a third new book and an up-dated website, then to write about the gifts of the Spirit.

I would like to say that the writing of these three books has been a breeze, but it has been a long road. Frequently I thought, “Who am I to think that I could this?” Then I would look at one of my quote cards.

“The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us.”

You see the gifts He gives us are not our own doing, they are His gifts entrusted into our care. When we utilize them,

We walk by faith and not by sight. II Corinthians 5:7

So, as we celebrate these special victories, I give praise to God, gratitude to you faithful readers, and special thanks to my web designer, Rhonda Dragomir.
