“Food” for Thought

Searching His Word
 Seeking His Heart

Isn’t it interesting that before God created man and woman, he created fruits and vegetables for them to eat? And before he created these plants, he created night and day, sunlight and rain so that these plants could flourish.

Perhaps you have seen ideas about the fruits and vegetables we eat, ways in which the foods themselves match parts of our bodies and how that food well serves that part of the body.

For instance, when you look at a sliced carrot, it resembles an eye. The pupil, iris, and radiating lines look just like a human eye–and yes, science shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to the eyes and its function.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. Hebrews 12:2

A tomato has four chambers and is red just like the heart has four chambers and is red. Much research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure food for the heart and blood.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart . . . Mark 12:30

Consider the walnut. It looks like a little brain, with a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles and folds on the nut are like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts develop more than three dozen neuro-transmitters for brain function.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transfomed by the newing of your mind. Romans 12:2

Kidney beans actually heal and help kidney function and yes, they look exactly like human kidneys.

. . . all the rivers of Judah will run with water. Joel 3:18b

I’m sorry, I just couldn’t resist that one!

Suffice it to say that the Lord provided early on the foods we needed for nourishment before he made us and even “shape-coded” many of them for us. Be sure to eat your fruits, vegetables, and nuts today and offer your gratitude to the creator of all things.

Blessings.
